The prominent location of the site along Beaufort Street links Inglewood’s commercial axis with its greater suburban setting. With a considered built form drawing from the local Art Deco context and injecting a contemporary viewpoint, the building serves as a bridging link, offering an exciting and attractive addition to Inglewood’s Town Centre Mixed Use Precinct.
The ground floor plaza and tenancy activate and engage with the Beaufort Street streetscape and the wider neighbourhood. Transitioning into the private realm, the interlacing of colonnades, courtyards and shared amenities promotes strong engagement and interaction among residents.
A mix of considered apartment designs enhances the overall living experience, with each residence creating a private sanctuary that connects indoor living with the outdoor environment.
The project’s overarching language draws from classic Art Deco motifs. The white brick podium grounds the building, with feature arches highlighting access ways and framing apartment balconies. Curved articulations continue through the canopy, planter and balcony design.
A refined mixture of materials including white brick, glass bricks, copper screening and taupe render echoes the palette of existing heritage buildings with a contemporary approach. This proposal aims to engage not only with its residents but also with the wider local community, and is positioned as a reference point for future development in the area.
