Brighton Apartments

his project redefines a key site along Brighton Road, linking Scarborough’s beach core to its suburban fringethrough a mixed-use design that is both civic and residential. A curvilinear podium activates the street with commercial uses and landscaped laneways, while set-back residential towers create light, air, and rhythm in the skyline.

The architecture speaks to the coast—warm earthy tones, fluid forms, and robust materials—delivering a human-scaled, enduring response to the environment. Apartments are efficient yet generous,with floorplates designed to maximise efficiency, with logical room adjacencies, direct vertical circulation, and optimised daylight penetration into living areas.The communal spaces are designed with adaptability in mind to evolve with residents’ needs.

The design balances the needs of visitors and permanent residents by integrating active ground-floor uses with high-quality housing, reinforcing the character of the coastal precinct that celebrates Scarborough’s identity and enhances its sense of place.
